Good Lawyers/Good People
There are good lawyers and there are bad lawyers, just as there are good people and bad people. And there are good lawyers who are good people, and, unfortunately, there are good lawyers who are bad people. Not many of the latter, mind you;, but just enough to give lawyers and the law a bad name. And just enough to be dangerous. Bad lawyers/bad people aren’t terribly dangerous, since they often don’t survive in the profession. But good lawyers/bad people often do, generally because there are people who will do anything to “win” their cases. A word of advice: your chances are just as good of winning if you choose a good lawyer who is a good person, and you’ll have a lot more respect for yourself when the case is over. When you lie down with dogs, you get fleas. When you associate yourself with bad people, good lawyer or not, you end up sullied. it isn’t worth it. Have some self-respect and hang out with good people in everything you do. In the long run, and often in the short run, you’ll be better off for it. And your children will have a lot more respect for you. Isn’t that alone worth it?
